The Full Story

About

I began painting at an early age and followed my creative passion with set painting at the Co-operative Arts Theatre in Nottingham in my teens.  During this time, I continued to work on portraits, city and scenic landscapes and still life, some as commissions.

I took a break to pursue a more stable career through an apprenticeship only to return to

my first love in my forties, creating seascapes and landscapes, selling in exhibitions and galleries around south west England.

Being mindful of exploring further, I studied Foundation at Falmouth Art College for two years, then completed HND in Illustration with Plymouth University Based in Cornwall followed by studies in HND Fine Art.

Another project took off afterwards which took up most of my time, and my art took a back seat for a while, however I continued to dabble whenever possible.

Now in my retirement, I can immerse myself fully into my art, exploring new products and techniques, pushing boundaries and setting new goals, and I absolutely love it!

My Studio

My studio is anywhere I wish it to be.  From sketch painting in the Scilly Isles and the Gower Peninsula, to using oil in my dining room or the purpose built studio in my garden, if I need to start mark making from my palette, the urge is always there to create my art.

What's Not To Love?

I love the peace and solitude whilst painting, expressing through light and space, freedom, texture and colour, creating artworks through exploration, emotion and beauty of the natural world around us.
